Before you start

Open campaign detail. Activation access differs from a gift card’s private link.

Step by step

  1. Review limit, opened, activations, people who redeemed and money used. These metrics are not interchangeable. “Opened” counts distinct people who opened the link in a browser; bots and email previews don’t count.
  2. Read the Results section: the funnel goes from opening the link to activating the gift, using it in the store and placing orders, with each step as a share of those who opened the link.
  3. Sold with the campaign lists paid orders where a gift from the campaign was used: total sold, what customers paid out of pocket, what the gift covered and the average order. An order in another currency counts without an amount.
  4. Change the period (since launch, 7, 30 or 90 days, or your own dates) to see the day-by-day series in people or in sales.
  5. Add parameters to the link before sharing it, for example ?utm_source=instagram, and the Where they come from section splits opened, activated, orders and sold by each value. Tap a row to filter every result by that origin; you can combine several parameters.
  6. Filter people and export CSV for the selection. The file adds where each person came from, the link parameters and what they bought.
  7. Use pause, resume or close when available to control future activations.
  8. Explain the customer journey: complete required details, activate and open the gift. Already-activated customers can use the offered resend.

What the person sees when they activate

After tapping “Activate my gift,” the person no longer sees a gray button with a spinner. They see the campaign’s real design card in your store’s voice, and move through up to four states:
  • Waiting room. A message in your store’s voice (“is getting your gift ready”) with a three-step timeline: activation confirmed, issuing the gift card and the note that it arrives by email. Issuance usually takes a few seconds.
  • Gift ready. A greeting using the person’s name (“it’s yours!”) and an “Open my gift” button. The page opens on its own after 3 seconds, with a “stay here” option to cancel that. The campaign card moves over to the gift page.
  • Delayed (reserved). If issuance takes longer than about 40 seconds, the screen switches to “Your gift is reserved”: nobody else can activate it, the person doesn’t need to activate again, and the gift still arrives by email. The page keeps checking for up to 5 minutes.
  • Issuance failed. If issuance fails for good, the screen says so plainly: “We couldn’t issue your gift.” It notes that the activation was recorded and that your store already knows, and offers your contact details. This case also reaches you as an internal alert, so you can resolve it before a customer has to complain.
The landing also has its own loading skeleton. On the demo (demo.gifty.lat/activar/demo), the ?estado=esperando, ?estado=demorado and ?estado=fallido parameters open each of these states so you can preview them without activating for real.

New campaigns ask people to confirm their email

Campaigns created from now on add a step before issuing the gift: confirming the email. This does not affect campaigns published before this change; those still issue directly, as the section above explains. After tapping “Activate my gift,” the person leaves a reservation under their name. Gifty sends them an email with the subject “Confirm your email to receive your gift from” plus your store’s name, and a button. The gift card is issued only once the person taps that link; from there they see the waiting room and then the gift, as the section above explains. After activating, the person sees a new screen: “Check your email.” It has a “Resend the email” button (a 60-second cooldown between resends, up to 5 total) and a “Wrong email? Activate again with another one” option to fix a typo. The link in the email can show three different screens: “Confirming your email…” while it confirms, “This link expired” if more than 24 hours passed and the person needs to activate again, or “This confirmation link isn’t valid” if the link is malformed or the person requested a resend — only the link from the latest email works. The reservation expires after 24 hours if nobody confirms, and the spot returns to the available quota. If that reservation is reactivated later, the person receives a new email. While live reservations fill the quota but nobody has confirmed yet, the public landing says “No gifts left right now” instead of announcing the campaign ended; those are two different things, and the message reopens on its own as soon as a reservation expires. On the demo (demo.gifty.lat/activar/demo), add the ?estado=verificar, ?estado=revisa-email, ?estado=confirmando, ?estado=link-vencido or ?estado=sin-lugar parameter to preview each of these screens without activating for real.

Unconfirmed reservations in your dashboard

In campaign detail, Activated now counts only confirmed activations. When live reservations are waiting to be confirmed, a note underneath reports how many, so the number doesn’t look like a mistake. In the people list, anyone who hasn’t confirmed yet shows an “Unconfirmed” badge instead of an activation date. The campaign audience and the Marketing Nube sync only include confirmed people: an unconfirmed reservation doesn’t add to your audience or sync. In Results, “reserved” appears as a series separate from “activated,” both in the funnel and in the day-by-day series.

Many people at once

If a campaign goes viral, the link can get thousands of visits within minutes. Gifty splits the protection so that doesn’t reject real people:
  • The per-link limit rose to 3,000 activations every 10 minutes, so a campaign that takes off on social media doesn’t cut itself off. A separate IP limit and a per-device limit still exist, aimed at bots and hammering, not legitimate traffic.
  • An exhausted, paused or expired campaign responds instantly: it doesn’t queue anyone up for a gift that’s never coming.
  • The public landing no longer shows how many gifts remain or were activated. You still see that in the campaign’s detail page — publishing it on an anonymous link showed anyone how fast your budget was being used up.

How to verify the result

Activation creates the relevant gift; it does not prove redemption. Paused or ended campaigns explain unavailability publicly.

If something goes wrong

  • Available capacity is not a sale, and activations are not consumed balance.
  • Sold with the campaign is not redeemed balance: it is the total of the orders where the gift was used. If an order is cancelled or fully refunded, it stops counting.
  • If nobody shows under “opened”, check that you are sharing the published link and not a preview. If the origin breakdown is empty, the link carries no parameters.
  • If someone already activated, recover the existing gift rather than promise a second issuance.
  • If a person sees “Your gift is reserved,” don’t promise a second issuance: their spot is already saved and the gift arrives as soon as issuance finishes.
  • An unconfirmed reservation doesn’t have a gift yet: don’t promise delivery until the person confirms their email.
