Before you start

Partial redemption starts disabled. It applies to eligible native gift cards, not migrated cards.

Step by step

  1. Open Settings → Redemptions and review the partial-redemption preference.
  2. Enabling it also covers eligible native gifts already issued. There is no separate apply-to-existing selector.
  3. Disabling it preserves remaining-balance use for already partially redeemed gifts until depletion or expiry; untouched gifts return to full redemption.
  4. After a partial redemption, check synchronization before reusing the online coupon.

How to verify the result

The same code shares balance between online and counter use. Durable coupon updates may not be instant. Repairing a missing coupon keeps the code but may change its internal identifier.

If something goes wrong

  • Enabling the preference does not recover previously lost value.
  • Minimum purchase is configured while partial redemption is off. Enabling partial removes that restriction; wait for TiendaNube application before assuming the new behavior.

Cancellation and refund of the redemption order

If the order where the gift card was used is fully canceled or refunded, processing idempotently restores the amount consumed by that redemption. This differs from canceling the original gift card purchase. Partial refunds require human review; do not calculate or promise automatic restoration. After recovery, check balance and coupon synchronization; the external update can still be pending.
