Before you start

Open Home after your trial. During the trial, the home is different: see Use the home during your trial.

Step by step

  1. Pick the period: Last 30 days, This month or Since you started. The default is a rolling 30 days.
  2. Read You sold: it’s the value of the gift cards sold in the period, not what was collected. Below it you see how many gift cards it was and the change versus the previous range, with its dates.
  3. Read To be redeemed: the balance of active gift cards. Redeemed shows what was redeemed and in how many gift cards.
  4. Under Redeemed you see what customers paid on top of their gift cards. It may include shipping. The percentage appears with five redemptions or more.
  5. Check What gifty costs. On the fixed plan you see the price and the next charge. On the variable plan you see the cycle’s sales and accrued commission, and the day the debit is calculated. Once the settlement is ready, you see how much is debited and on which day.
  6. Export the period’s CSV with Export CSV.

How to verify the result

  • If the period has no sales, the home opens with what you sold since you started. It never shows “You sold $0”.
  • Currencies are never added: the main one is large and the others are named separately.
  • ”+ VAT” appears only in Argentina. With Mercado Pago you see the total with VAT included.
  • The export matches the selected period.

If something goes wrong

  • If a charge failed or a payment method is missing, the billing notice appears at the top and takes you to Billing.
  • If your subscription is paused, scheduled to end or cancelled, the home says so at the top with its action. With a cancelled plan, the home shows only what you sold since you started.
  • If your trial ended and the first charge isn’t recorded yet, the home says so and takes you to Billing.
  • With basic reports you see the last 30 days, with no period selector and no redemptions.
  • In campaigns, activations, redemptions, free quota and money used measure different things. Read each label before comparing them.

Request the gift card as a payment method

If your store can use the gift card as a payment method at checkout, the home shows the Payment method at your checkout card.
  1. Select Request it.
  2. Read what changes. Gift cards you sell after it is turned on are paid as a payment method, with their code and a security code, and they don’t work as coupons. The ones you already sold keep working as coupons. Partial redemption stays on.
  3. Check the box and select Request activation.
The card changes to Requested on [date] and the Gifty team turns it on. When the payment method is on, the card says Active at your checkout and View opens Settings → Redemptions.
  • If there is a billing problem at the top, the card doesn’t offer Request it until it is solved. A request in progress still shows.
  • If your store can’t use the payment method yet, the card doesn’t appear.

A redemption that couldn’t be applied

If an order used a gift card and the redemption couldn’t be recorded, the home warns you at the top, before the numbers. The notice also appears during the trial, below the days bar.
  • With one case, the notice names the order: “A redemption couldn’t be applied on order #1043.”. With several, it shows up to three orders and how many cases remain.
  • Each case states the reason. The order may have used more than one coupon, the discount may have exceeded the balance, it may be impossible to tell how much the gift card covered, or the balance couldn’t be deducted.
  • In those cases the balance didn’t move and the notice says “The gift card is still intact.”.
  • If the order was cancelled or had a partial refund and the balance couldn’t be returned, the notice says “We’re looking into it.”. The same happens if it can’t confirm that the balance stayed the same: for example, if a redemption of that gift card on the same order was recorded later. It never promises that the gift card is intact without proof.
  • Review opens the gift card’s page with its redemption history. If the gift card couldn’t be identified, it opens the gift card list.
  • The notice goes away when gifty records the fix: it records the redemption or returns the balance to the gift card. It also goes away if support reviews the case and closes it with an audited reason. Time passing or an action on the home doesn’t close it.
